Lancaster Cheryl Lynn Slater Corbett, of Lancaster, OH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at The OSU James Hospital on June 15th, 2024.Cheryl was born on January 20th, 1946, to Charles Arthur Slater and Eula Jean Scheeler Slater, joining her doting older brother Richard Slater in Logan, OH. She had a wonderful childhood in Athens, OH, where she excelled in various activities, including the Girl Scouts, 4H, Order of the Rainbow Girls Sorority, CMC Sorority, piano, student council, and played clarinet in the band. She was also a majorette at Athens High School, graduating in 1963. Cheryl attended Ohio University Athens, joined the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, and spent summers traveling in Europe.After earning her degree in Early Childhood Education in 1967, Cheryl married Dennis Corbett, and they began their married life in Waipahu, HI, where Cheryl taught preschool.
